Kyle Hedstrom - Head Golf Professional
Kyle Hedstrom was born and raised in Newington, CT. Kyle attended Newington High School and Central Connecticut State University where he played on the golf teams. His professional career began in 1997 at Ellington Ridge Country Club followed by stints at Black Hall Club and Shuttle Meadow Country Club. During his tenure at Ellington, Kyle won the TaylorMade-Adidas Assistants' Championship in 2000. Kyle was awarded the Connecticut Section Assistant Golf Professional of the Year in 2002, Connecticut Section Merchandiser of the Year in 2005 and 2011 as well as the 2014 Connecticut Section President’s Award. Kyle has been the Head Golf Professional at Stanley Golf Course since 2004. Kyle, who truly loves teaching the game, has provided helpful golf instruction to hundreds of players of all skill levels and ages. He currently lives in Wethersfield, CT with his wife Leanne, son Jack and daughter Kayla.
Fran Hoxie - Director of Instruction
Fran Hoxie was born and raised in Naugatuck, CT. He attended Naugatuck High School and then Southern Connecticut State University where he received a full scholarship to play golf. His professional career began in 1996 as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Washington Golf Club and in 1997 was promoted to Head Golf Professional. He proudly served there for 16 years. Fran’s true passion is teaching golf. His special ability to communicate clearly in developing players of all skill levels is what separates him from many instructors in the field. Fran’s use of unique practice routines, video analysis, drills, enables his students to improve their games quickly while enjoying the learning process. Fran has also served on the Communications and Tournament committees for the Connecticut Section PGA.
Richard Hanson - Assistant Golf Professional
Richard Hanson was born and raised in Plainville, CT where he attended Plainville High School, played on their golf team and the local PGA Junior Tour. In 2012, Richard tied for first place at the Ranch Junior Open in Southwick, Massachusetts. In 2013 attended Florida Gulf Coast University where he enrolled in the PGA PGM (Professional Golf Management) Apprentice Program; he is now completing his PGA PGM Level 1 requirements. In the past two years, Richard was both an Intern and Assistant at Farmington Woods Golf Club in Avon, CT, where his main instructional focus was on junior golfers, both individual lessons as well as U.S. Kids Golf guided clinics. Richard is extremely excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Kyle Hedstrom and Fran Hoxie in furthering his PGA career development.
