The Senior Club at Stanley G.C. was organized in 1992 and has approximately 90 members. Membership is open to all male golfers 55 years of age and older. We seek to promote good fellowship and sportsmanship by playing golf and maintaining social contacts with other senior golfers. Active members have the right to vote, hold office, serve on committees, share in the assets of the Club, and participate in all Club activities.
A Members Handbook, providing essential information, is given to each member.
Dues are $30 per year. All members shall remain in good standing by paying their dues before May 1st. After April 30th, there will be an additional $5 assessment.
An optional $18 fee will be charged for those members who want a GHIN generated USGA Index.
Our Club will play using the USGA RULES OF GOLF. The ball will be played down during the CSGA active season from the 2nd week in April to the 4th week in October. This means the ball cannot be moved (except as permitted by USGA Rules) without incurring a penalty. Any temporary exception to this rule will be posted on the Club bulletin board.
During the active season (early April to mid October) you must post your adjusted score for every round you play on the Club bulletin board. New members must post 5 scores before being given a handicap. Our Club uses the Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) - the downward adjustment of individual hole scores for handicap purposes. This allows players of differing handicap levels to compete fairly with each other. ESC sets a maximum number that a player can post on any hole depending on the player's Course Handicap. Check your Members Handbook for more details.
- Monday through Friday - Kickers - $1 (drawing on Saturday)

Sign up and pay for all events in the Pro Shop. All prizes will be either Pro Shop credit or Golf Store gift certificates.
The Club Champion will be determined by match play. A sign-up sheet will be posted in May. The championship match will be played on our outing day in mid August.
Thank you for your interest in our Club. If you would like further information, please contact me or go into the Pro Shop and ask the professional staff.

For more than 40 years, Stanley Women's Golf Club has offered golfing opportunities to women of all ages and abilities. The club is a non-profit organization with a stated purpose to promote and encourage women's golf. Although we compete for prizes, friendship and camaraderie are our primary goals with membership open to all women 16 years of age and older. It doesn't matter if you are just starting to play competitively or have a low handicap, we welcome your participation in the club.
Our schedule of 13 tournaments is played on Saturdays with tee times generally beginning at 10:30 A.M. While Stanley Golf Course has 27 holes, our women's tournaments are typically played on the White and Blue Courses. Tournament sign-up begins approximately three weeks prior to each event by posting your name in the ladies' locker room or by e-mail.
Annual membership dues is $75.00. This covers the costs for prize money, administration, and a Connecticut State Golf Association GHIN handicap. Our Member-Member/Member-Guest tournament requires an additional fee to cover the cost of post-tournament refreshments.
A GHIN handicap is required for tournament play. If you don't already have a handicap, join and we will help you get one. For new members, a handicap will be established upon submission of five 18-hole scores (or equivalent in 9 hole scores). These scores must be provided to the handicap chairperson prior to participation in tournament play. Individual tournament play is by flights so players compete with players of like ability, with gross and net prizes awarded in each flight. Everyone has a chance to win.
Membership in the Stanley Women's Golf Club also enables you to join SNEWGA (Southern New England Women's Golf Association), which provides additional tournament and golfing activities at 35 courses throughout Connecticut. Membership to SNEWGA is an additional $15 per year.
If you love to play golf and want to meet other women that are committed to the sport, then the Stanley Women's Club may be the place for you. Feel free to contact: 2013 Club President, Denise Roman (H)860-643-6234 (e-mail: jeroman@cox.net) or the Stanley Golf Pro-Shop at 860-827-8570 for more information.
